About Me

I was born and raised in north central Illinois and come from a long line of teachers on both sides of my family. Needless to say, no one was surprised that I am pursuing a PhD.

I became interested in economics during my time as an undergraduate at the University of Iowa. When it came time to apply for graduate programs, I discovered agricultural and applied economics and knew it was the right field for me.

In my free time, you can usually find me knitting all manner of items for friends and family. I also enjoy reading and spending time with my family, husband, and our pets. My husband is also a PhD candidate in the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics at Michigan State on the job market this year - you can find his personal website here.
